We come at GEO as a technical SEO studio, and the ordering matters. Most of what decides whether an engine can retrieve you at all is infrastructure — indexation, rendering, crawler access — which is our flagship discipline, not a new invention. The genuinely new work sits in how machines parse and attribute, and that’s where this page earns its keep. What we won’t do is rebadge old deliverables with an AI sticker. Scope is written out below; judge it there.

How engines choose their sources

An answer engine cites you when three separate things go right. It found and fetched your pages. It lifted clean, self-contained passages out of them. And when it weighed those passages against everyone else's, yours read as the credible version of the claim. We organize the entire practice on those three surfaces — the same Retrieve · Parse · Cite axis on this page's masthead. The workstreams under each surface run in parallel; there is no step one. A site weak on all three gets all three worked at once, sequenced by whatever costs the most.

Can the engines fetch you at all?

Citation starts with access, and access is where teams hold their most confident wrong beliefs. The one we correct most often: blocking Google-Extended does not remove you from AI Overviews. Google-Extended governs Gemini training; AI Overviews ride ordinary Googlebot and the ordinary index — so your AI Overview eligibility is your indexation health, full stop. OpenAI splits its crawlers the same way, GPTBot gathering training data while OAI-SearchBot feeds ChatGPT search, and Perplexity and Anthropic run fetchers under their own tokens. We write your access policy bot by bot, deliberately, and document what each directive actually controls, because an accidental disallow here stays invisible until someone asks why you're absent from every generated answer.

The second retrieval problem is JavaScript. Several AI crawlers execute little or none of it, so content that only exists after client-side hydration may as well not exist to them. Server-rendered HTML stops being a performance preference and becomes a distribution requirement. We diff your raw responses against the rendered DOM and report exactly which content is invisible to which fetchers. Underneath all of it: a page Google never indexed can’t surface in an AI Overview, which is why this practice sits on top of technical SEO rather than beside it.

Parse

Can a machine lift a clean passage?

Engines don't quote pages. They quote passages, and a passage survives extraction when it stands alone: claim in the first sentence, support behind it, no pronoun pointing at a paragraph two scrolls back. Most site copy fails that test — not because it's badly written, but because it was written for a reader who arrived at the top and scrolled. We rework priority templates so every section opens with the sentence an engine would want to quote, headings state claims instead of teasing them, and comparisons live in structures a parser can walk: tables, spec rows, definition blocks.

Terminology discipline belongs to this surface too. Call your product three different names across the site and you've split your own entity three ways. Structured data does real work here — disambiguating who's speaking and what's claimed — but we'll be straight about its limits: schema corroborates extractable prose; it doesn't substitute for it. An engine that can't parse your paragraphs won't be rescued by your JSON-LD.

When passages compete, does yours win?

Retrieval and parsing get you into the candidate pool. Citation is won on credibility, and the signals are more concrete than the word suggests. Engines prefer claims that more than one credible source makes — corroboration functions as a ranking factor here in a way it never quite did in blue links — so your entity needs to read consistently everywhere it appears, and your key claims need to exist beyond your own domain. The early academic work on generative engines found what practitioners keep re-confirming since: passages carrying quotations, statistics, and named sources get cited measurably more than unsupported assertion. Write like a source and the engines treat you like one.

You'll see this sold as a second discipline with its own acronym and its own line item. It isn't one. The systems answering questions are the systems generating answers — same retrieval, same parsing, same citation mechanics — so splitting the vocabulary mostly lets vendors sell one practice twice. We call all of it GEO. Everything on this page is the whole of it, scoped and priced as one thing.

What you can measure — and what nobody honestly can

More than the skeptics say; less than the dashboards imply. We track citation presence for your target queries across the engines — whether your domain is cited, for what, against whom — along with AI Overview inclusion on the queries you care about, referral sessions arriving from answer engines, and the movement in branded search that generated answers tend to drive. What we won't sell you is a single-number AI visibility score. The engines don't expose the internals such a score would require, so every one on the market is a synthetic index of somebody's guesses. We'd rather show you the citations themselves. When the report is a list of real answers naming your domain, nobody argues about methodology.

How do GEO services differ from traditional SEO?
